“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” Saint Augustine
I like to travel. Before we go on a trip, I like to look at books and learn about the tourist spots, history, food and cultures. In the children’s department, we have a book representing each state in the USA.
Learning about historical events, and reading biographies about people who lived in the area, also enhances a traveler’s experience. But the best part is… the trip itself. Creating my own memories of each place. Memories that I can visit again and again.
If you can’t take a trip this year, come to the library. Henry Miller said, “One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” So read a book about someone different than you, or take a fantasy trip to magical worlds and fantastic futures. I’m here waiting to help you find the right book for you (except when I’m on vacation, during the last week in July).
