About Us

El Reno Carnegie Library has been serving El Reno for 114 years. Built in 1905 with a donation from Andrew Carnegie, we are the oldest Carnegie Library in Oklahoma that is still being used as a library.

Over the  years the library has undergone many renovations and changes. From the community theater stage upstairs being converted to our children’s department to the addition in the early 80’s that includes the bathrooms, teen space, and Ashbrook meeting room. We are also the only library with an archives in Canadian County.

Our current staff has a great love for the library and work wonderfully together to help keep the library a place where all members of the El Reno community can feel welcome, have fun, and learn!
